EVERY NIGHT I SAVE YOU
Feb 28 2002 ~ this was actually a lot harder to do than I thought it would be. The problem was that there were no really close up shots of Spike in the part of the scene where he's being sincere, which is the part I wanted to use. So the size of the capture was small, and then to make matters worse it was all dark. I finally decided that my fight to improve the quality of the capture, to make it look more photographic, was pointless. So instead I reduced the contrast, introduces some noise, and let some of the background shine through. The small words that pattern the background are just a reinteration of the entire "every night" speech. I also used a photo of a starry night sky blending into some random distorted gradiants. The main font is Gradl, with Tree Frog used for the quote in the center. The borders were made with custom brushes I made using scans of a piece of paper I had folded and stuck in my jeans pocket for a couple of weeks. At first I had a greenish-yellow color scheme going on, but it was ugly, so I toned it down to nearly gray scale, and then later decided to give it an orangy tint to go with the rest of the Tangled Synthesis site color scheme.
